Homily for Good Shepherd Sunday: The world feels new again

Note: After much delay (which you can read about that here), I’m posting on April 21, 2024, this Sunday homily when I was as a deacon at the St. Peter Chanel Catholic Church in Hawaiian Gardens, Calif., next to Long Beach.

Centered around John 10:1-10, I gave it once on Sunday, April 30, 2023, probably for the 6 p.m. Vigil Mass. This continued the trend of the previous weeks of sharing a part of my vocation story. The world feels very new because Jesus leads us to endless pasture. But what do you want to do in this new world?

Lesson: Jesus gives us life-abundant possibilities. What are we going to do with them?

God bless.

What do you think?
