My temporary professed brothers and I headed to the Marie Joseph Spiritual Center in Biddeford Pool, Maine, for a day of recollection on Oct. 27-29, 2017.   It was relaxing to get away from academics for a weekend.

After Mass on the 28th, I ventured with my camera from the retreat house to a rocky beach nearby.  I had hoped to photograph something cool on the beach.  I found nothing, but the crashing waves were soothing.  I closed my eyes to absorb the sound.

Walking back, the fall colors were past peak and the trees looked drab and gray.  But I peered down and saw this splash of color.

I snapped a few pictures before heading back.  God still surprises me.
