Here is the reflection I gave during Vespers at St. Clement Eucharistic Shrine on Saturday, Oct. 14, 2017. The reflection is based on the first reading for the 33rd Sunday in Ordinary Time, Year A: Proverbs 31:10-13, 19-20, 30-31.
I wasn’t comfortable with my written reflection because of the topics. But recent news about sexual abuses cases, especially at a nearby music school, prompted my heart to say something, anything. Turning things over to God, I decided to speak with an outline for notes. An outline was great if I regularly checked it. I didn’t. So toward the end, I felt I was just rambling and cut off the reflection early.
Afterward, I felt like I bombed the whole reflection. Two people complimented me. If you found it helpful, great. If not, just forget about it.
