In December 2013, I filled out an online form listing my dreams. Under dream jobs, I wrote priest first and spiritual director second. On Friday, May 29, 2021, the second came to fruition. Fifteen people (deacons, religious brothers, religious sisters, lay consecrated and lay persons received their certification as spiritual director.

Br. Leland and I started in the spiritual direction formation in 2018. Typically, the program lasted about two years with 3 intensive workshops in May. But Covid delayed the third workshop for a year until this week. I’m astounded and humbled by the power of God’s providence to provide the right instructors, directees and colleagues on this journey.

Many people will be blessed by these new spiritual directors. May each director and subsequent directee be open to the guiding touch of the Spirit.
