During my retreat in New Jersey, a desire welled up to have a Holy Hour at St. Mary’s Shrine at St. Joseph Retreat House for the Year of the Eucharist in the Archdiocese of Boston. Fr. Bill Neubecker, OMV suggested that I add the Litany of St. Joseph for the Year of St. Joseph in the Universal Church.
A research of Holy Hours in neighboring parishes revealed that Monday nights would be the best time to have it.
The simple format was a simple exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, the Litany of St. Joseph, two questions for prayer and a simple reposition.
It started small with two people on the first Holy Hour on Aug. 2, 2021. The attendance grew to nine on Aug. 9. I keep improving the Holy Hour. First, I made handouts of the litany. Next, I promoted the Holy Hour on social media. The weekly handouts included the two questions for prayer.
My hope is that people will grow closer to Jesus and St. Joseph. I myself benefited from this additional Holy Hour as I sit quietly with Jesus.
The Holy Hour will end at the conclusion of the Year of Eucharist, which will be June 19, 2022.
If you are near the Milton retreat house, stop and spend time with Jesus on Monday evenings.
