Homily: Foster hope for heaven

Here is my latest Sunday homily as a deacon. Centered around Lk 20:27-38, I gave it once at the St. Peter Chanel Catholic Church in Hawaiian Gardens, Calif., next to Long Beach. This recording is from the 6 p.m. Vigil Mass on Saturday, Nov. 5, 2022.

If we don’t desire heaven, we won’t fight for it.

What do you want to do when you reach heaven? (If this sounded familiar, I had pondered that question from John Eldredge’s book All Things New in a two-part series in 2018 on heaven. Check out the intro and the three things.)

God bless.
