Here is my first homily as a deacon. Centered around Jeremiah 1:4-5, 17-19, I gave it at the 8 a.m. Mass at the St. Francis Chapel in the Prudential Center in Boston. When I mentioned “she,” I was pointing to a statue of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Sometimes I said Elijah when I was trying to say Jeremiah. There goes a perfect homily.
